Lori Streich
Rowan Associates’ Principal Consultant is Lori Streich.
Lori has been working as a freelance consultant since 1996, and for public and voluntary sector organisations since 1976. She has developed, delivered and managed services – both front line and infrastructure provision.
Lori is an experienced facilitator and mediator. She works with organisations and their stakeholders, and with strategic partnerships, to ensure the engagement of the right people in the right issues.
She is skilled at supporting organisations to make sense of complex information, and at identifying practical applications of this information within the shifting policy agenda. Her research experience has a focus on describing good practice and analysing the factors which make up good practice.
Lori has a track record in producing clear and accessible reports. As a volunteer member of the Editorial Board of her community newspaper (Mina Matters: the newspaper for the St Werburgh’s Community), her writing received Bristol Community Newsletter Awards in 2006 and 2007 – both for feature articles. http://www.stwerburghs.org/index.php?dept=mina_Matters
Lori’s consultancy work is informed by ongoing voluntary work with organisations which inspire her. She has been a member of a the Boards of a large number of voluntary organisations. Currently, she is the Chair of Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust, and chairs the Carriageworks Action Group. This is seeking a regeneration solution for Stokes Croft in Bristol caused by the long-standing dereliction of the Westmoreland House/Carriageworks Building. www.carriageworks.org.uk
Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust:
Arnos Vale Cemetery is 45 acres of astonishing social history, art and wildlife located in the centre of Bristol. After decades of neglect, it is being restored and developed in partnership with Bristol City Council, and with the financial support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and many others. After a chance visit to Arnos Vale in 2006, Lori joined the Board of Trustees. She was elected its Chair in June 2009. With Charity Commission agreement, she stepped in to act as Interim Business Development Consultant during a period of staff and organisational change in 2010-2011.
Now back in the Chair of the Trust, Lori’s roles include supervising the Chief Executive and overseeing the implementation of the organisation’s Strategic Plan. This will enable Arnos Vale to develop as a place of remembrance, an education centre, a focus for volunteering and a social enterprise.
